If you work in Rivers, Waterways & in Ecology, then you may well have stumbled upon someone wearing a Wader from the Ollyskins range of Chest and Thigh Waders, and you may also be aware of the Institute of Fishery Management (IFM).
Ollyskins is a UK company, based in East Yorkshire, and specialising in the production of Waders. The product range utilises three different types of fabrics, each with their own performance properties depending on role you are undertaking.
Product Ranges
The product ranges are split into INDUSTRIAL and ANGLING. As a rule, the difference between the two ranges is that the Industrial Waders feature Wellingtons with S5 Safety Toecap and Midsole Wellingtons.
Fabric Types
PVC – this is the most common fabric used in making Waders, and Ollyskins have developed some extra robust fabrics with superior puncture resistance.
Neoprene – a fabric with outstanding Thermal properties for keeping you warm when working in the elements or in cold water.
Trilaminate – fabrics typically associated with Drysuits featuring a rubber inner and Nylon or Polyester outers for abrasion resistance.
